Privacy policy

This explains what we do with the information you give us when you apply for a founding member place. It is written to meet the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Realbase Property Group (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party.
What we collect
Only what the application form asks for: your name, email address, mobile number, province, the area you work, whether you are applying as an individual, a team leader, an agency principal or a candidate practitioner, your current agency, your years in real estate, your registered transfers in the last twelve months, whether you hold a valid FFC, your team size, whether you manage rentals, and anything you choose to write in the free text field.
We do not collect your identity number, your banking details or any financial information through this form, and we never ask for them by email.
Why we collect it
To assess your application, to contact you about a founding member place, and to keep you updated on our launch. That is the only reason. You give us this information voluntarily, and you consent to it when you tick the box on the form.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information and we do not share it with other agencies, brokerages or marketing companies. It is held by two service providers who process it on our behalf:
- Supabase, which hosts the database your application is stored in.
- MailerLite, which sends the launch updates you agreed to receive.
Both are outside South Africa, so your information is transferred across borders. Both are bound by their own data protection obligations and may only process your information on our instructions.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it, or until two years after we have finished considering your application, whichever comes first.
How we protect it
Applications are stored in an encrypted database that is not reachable from the public internet. Only the application form can write to it, and only Realbase staff can read it. Your IP address is never stored in a readable form.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent, or object to us using it. You may also complain to the Information Regulator. Email us and we will act on your request.
